I made this :: red pants
Just something small for my smallest owlet. A pair of stretchy, comfy pants... made from the sleeves of an old long sleeved top of mine, with a waistband from an old belly band thingamy I made when pregnant with Little Owlet. I didn't have a pattern, just used another tiny pair of pants as a template and figured it out on the machine... like most of my projects. I am rather loving upcycling right now. It seems to suit my style of crafting as I rarely have a plan, but seem to always make do with what materials I have at hand. And Tiny rather loves her comfy pants.
Have you made anything new from old lately?

They are adorabubble! I've got a pile of stuff here to upcycle, but it never seems to happen. I was feeling rather chuffed last night though, when watching an old video of Bri dancing around in a Snow White costume made from a few different op shop items.
ReplyDeleteThat costume is AMAZING!! I'd be pretty chuffed with it too. xx
DeleteSo sweet Lauren.
ReplyDeleteI have some plans for making my littlest some pants from an old bedspread I op-shopped recently! Just as soon as the rain stops and the roads are no longer flooded and my girl can get to university. Then I may be able to find some time to sit down at the sewing machine :p
Aren't tiny pants fun?! As is op-shopping! Hope you all stay safe and dry and you get a chance to make them soon. xx
Deletealways, I am loving upcycling - if I buy new fabric I feel guilty.... most is upcycled... I need to learn how to sew stretch fabric though - I found a great idea on pinterest! xx
ReplyDeleteI feel guilty about new fabric too. It seems so much more fun and more responsible to make do with what we already have. I have an overlocker, but for these I just used a loose zig-zag stitch and elastic kind of straight stitch which seem to work well :)
ReplyDeleteI made an owl for a friend's bubba out of an old shirt, an apron & some stash corduroy... I very rarely have the pleasure of new or "designer" fabric to play with so I am totally down with making do.
ReplyDeleteLove the tiny pants & the tiny bubba in them!
Gorgeous! I recently made a dress out of a 50c pillowcase form an op shop :) Shoulders from upcycled ribbon and tinkerbell print on the front from an upcycled doona cover. Winning :D
