one jemima, two jemima...

When I was a baby I was given a doll I called Jemima. She looks nothing like the Jemima on Playschool, but she has pigtails so that's her name. We used to lie in the hallway in warm patches of sun on sunny mornings - Jemima would stay in the shade though because her tan was already well developed. Jemima loves eating vegemite toast. When Big Owlet was 1 year old, I made her a Jemima. She has red hair, coat and shoes and pink and white stripy legs. Fortunately she doesn't like vegemite toast! I think it'll be time to make a Jemima for Little Owlet soon... wonder what she'll look like?

apricots

Our little tree is heavy with ripening fruit and we've found that fruit trees are a bit of a social thing. A bag or fruit chucked over the back fence can help make new friends, or can be swapped for some lemons... and a jar of jam really makes people happy... well most people. Oh but there is so much jam and not enough jars!!

baby kitchen

The girls grandmother spotted this little kitchen dresser at a garage sale a couple of months ago. We tidied it up and Audrey and I painted it white, added some coloured contact for hotplate and sink and... voila!! Instant kitchen in the kids corner of the loungeroom. Audrey picked the tea set to match and we found a gorgeous little cooking set, complete with stock pot, whisk and oven mitt... cuppa anyone?
