My Creative Space

Huz is home today. I expect there will be some pottering and tidying happening. Its a mixed blessing. I mean, who doesn't love a visit from the tidying faerie? But it is a wee bit frustrating too... I'm inclined to wander and daydream and create and make more mess... He's mostly understanding of the creative process, and tolerant but lately there have been some grumbling noises about my creative messes (I like to call them puddles)... "But the emergency craft station is brilliant! It just needs a fix up..." I protest. Who am I kidding?

Columns of ribbon, bowls of buttons, baskets of felt. They have multiplied. They are all over the house. Time to reel them in before the next wave of craftiness overcomes me. Don't think it will be long though...

Or maybe a few moments of sun can provide distraction and we can think some more about our other most pressing creative space for a moment...

  1. Groan. Lauren we have the same crafty buildup around here. I swear it multiplies overnight.
Every time I set up a new station I convince myself I've finally hit on the new organizing technique that will keep my place sane. HAHAHA.

  2. Soooooo the story here too, Lauren! I think it's just a load we have to bear... maybe a rhythm to what we do, that there has to be a monthly (6 monthly?) tidy up that we accept will not last... I'm fast approaching maximum build-up here too, but I'm not quite ready for the tidy ;) Good luck! K

  3. Yep the crafty buildup is a happening here too. Along with the dishes buildup, the lost toys & general crappola buildup, the washing to be folded buildup...should I go on? I love the concept of craft puddles! Your blog is lovely by the way xo

  4. Yes am afraid it's 'home is where the craft is here' too except I go to work each day and leave it all behind for hubby to get frustrated with.

To be honest though I have managed to clean up a bit lately and essentially only have my basket of crochet and yarns out although my granny's are stacking up in groups of 20 on the bookshelf. There's a few 'puddles' in the bedroom too but contained at the moment.
