my creative space...
We've been rearranging everything. Digging our way out of a winter slump. Slowly, with owlets underfoot. It's like a jigsaw puzzle. You add one storage solution and suddenly every cupboard is being emptied and moved and a new streamlined version of our nest emerges.
In the current version, my craft area (the dining table), has taken on a whole new organised look... and I think it's rather lovely. It makes me want to sew. And I can find everything. We've popped the "lady lamp" on the table to watch over proceedings. She was my grandmother's lamp and she's been lighting up a corner here for the longest time. I loved tracing her shape with my tiny fingers when I was little and it's lovely that the owlets are doing the same. And creativity will flow for all of us. We hope.
More spaces here.

Oh that looks so beautiful, I'm not surprised you want to sew. I wish you could come to my house and 'do' my area.
ReplyDeleteAlso I think I get what you mean about your lamp, I get those same feelings as I observe my wee one coveting my needle case, once my Gran's, now mine - the connection of generations. Gives me chills.
I LOVE that you have your grandma's lamp. It's quite lovely. Hope your new space brings thousands of moments of creativity and happiness.
ReplyDeleteLooking very nice & organised, wow that lamp is amazing, I love it!
ReplyDeletei am loving your description of 'add one storage solution' it is a bit like the boardgame Rummikub which is all about order and re-order and new beginnnings and all that ...
ReplyDeleteWish I had that cabinet - custom?

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that lamp is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely space and how grounding to have the lamp be part of your lives. I often say our house is a puzzle too, one of those plastic ones where one piece is missing and you have to shuffle the pieces around to make the picture - anyway, we;ll get their too :)
